This photo is representing me in a state of happiness. When this photo was taken, I was with some friends on a backpacking trip, it was raining and snowing, and we were camped out underneath a huge tree eating lunch and playing cards. At the time seemed as though it was a protective bubble, trapping the warmth from the camping stove and ramen noodles as far as its needles extended, and the pitter patter of the rain couldn't be heard above the laughter. The tree was located in the center of an opening in the forest, and the ring of trees surrounding us seemed to be taller then skyscrapers, and sky scrapers they may be. For miles around all we could see were the tips of trees. It was like an undiscovered city. I like to think that this city was ours. In this moment I felt humbly superior, with the rain and the food and the unconditional happiness. When I looked out at the forest I saw a city, and that city was ours.
Teacher Creature Photoshop Project
Prior to the Teacher Creature project, I hadn’t used photoshop to this extent. This project really gave me the photoshop experience I’ll need for my future digital projects. For my project I transformed Suzy (Spanish Two) into Neytiri, the heroine of the hit movie Avatar. The setting of my project takes place in outside a Mayan ruin. In the foreground there is a duck graffitied on a wall. The middleground has a cat and Suzy, and the background has Thor and lightning. My favorite part of this project was having a creative element and the freedom to make whatever we imagined. This was a very open ended project and I can appreciate the diversity it contains. The most challenging part for me was making all the parts of my poster blend and complement each other. I feel like my poster is very choppy, and needed to be more unified. Even though I really enjoyed the creating the creative piece, I prefer to make projects that are more geometric, like a book or album cover. Overall, I like this project and learned a lot about photoshop, art in general, and my artistic and strengths as well as weaknesses.
Photoshop Tutorials: Understanding Photoshop.
During this project we watched photoshop tutorials and then applied them to pictures. I learned about changing colors, adding pictures into the text, and how to remove braces.

Landscapes: Understanding Distance with Scale and Proportion
About Proportion and Photoshop: During this mini landscape project I learned a lot about proportion and tools in photoshop. Proportion is the size of an object relative to the painting as a whole. Proportion is often thought of in terms of the human body. For example, a face and its features are scaled down or up to be relative to head. Proportion is important in art because without it, a tree in the background could appear to be bigger then a tree in the foreground, when distance should make the tree in the background smaller and more proportionate to the rest of the art piece. Throughout middle school, I used photoshop for projects, but only used a select few tools to do so. This year, with the help of the worksheet, I have been able the identify and use new tools to make my project the best it can be. Widening my knowledge of photoshop will help me in future years, and in the understanding of technology icons.
Name Project
To make my name project, I checked out a camera and took pictures around the animas campus to form my name.
